EDA 2026: Venue & Practical information

Conference Venue

The conference will take place at the centrally located Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Oslo, situated at Holbergs plass in the heart of Oslo. The venue is within walking distance of many of Oslo’s cultural attractions, restaurants, and public transport connections, making it an ideal location for both local and international participants.

The hotel offers modern conference facilities with flexible meeting spaces designed for large international events, professional gatherings, and academic conferences. Throughout the conference, participants will benefit from the hotel’s professional conference services, comfortable meeting spaces, and convenient central location.

On Wednesday, during Pathophysiology Day, sessions will take place in the Scandinavia Scene, a modern meeting room well suited for plenary presentations and lectures for approximately 100 participants in classroom setup. The room provides an intimate yet professional atmosphere for focused academic discussions and presentations.

The main conference sessions on Thursday and Friday will be held in the Scandinavia Ballroom, one of the largest conference spaces in the hotel. The ballroom accommodates up to 300 participants in classroom-style seating and can be divided into four equal sections. This allows for parallel sessions while maintaining close proximity between speakers, participants, and program activities.

Breaks and networking opportunities will take place in the surrounding conference areas, creating a welcoming environment for discussion, collaboration, and professional exchange. Lunch will be served in the hotel’s restaurant and includes a two-course meal of the day. Coffee breaks feature a selection of coffee and tea, water, fresh fruit, daily pastries, and snacks in a shared break area.

Oslo City Hall

After the conference program on Thursday 5th of November, the Mayor of Oslo invites the participants of the congress to an official reception at Oslo City Hall. Oslo City Hall is one of Oslo’s most famous buildings. It is located at Aker Brygge, close to the Oslofjord, just a 10–15-minute walk from the conference venue at Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel at Holbergs plass.

The reception will begin at 18.00 sharp, and participants will be asked to arrive earlier for registration. Refreshments will be served, followed by a guided tour. The reception lasts for 90 minutes. Further details about registration will be announced closer to the conference.

Oslo City Hall opened in 1950. Both the exterior and the interior are richly decorated with artwork by a range of artists, using a variety of techniques. One of the most famous pieces is the painting “Life” by Edvard Munch. We believe the reception will be the perfect way to start the social program for the evening. After the reception, we will travel together to the conference dinner.

Transport

Travel to Oslo

If you arrive by plane, you will land at Oslo Airport Gardermoen. From the airport, you can take the Airport Express Train (Flytoget) or the local train (Vy) to Oslo city centre, which takes approximately 20 minutes (Public transportation). Bus and taxis are also available.

If you travel by bus or train, Nationaltheatret Station is the closest station to the conference venue.

If you arrive by private car, there are several parking garages near the conference venue, for example Holberg P-hus. The price is approximately 450 NOK per 24 hours.

Public transport in central Oslo

The public transport system is operated by Ruter. Ruter tickets are valid on buses, trams, the metro (subway), ferries (not all routes) and local trains. The Ruter app is the easiest and cheapest way to buy tickets and to plan your journey. It is not possible to buy tickets on trams and subways, and it is more expensive to buy tickets on board buses and boats. A journey planner is also available on the Ruter website.
